This past month has been more or less pretty tame compared to the rest of my time travelling here. That being said, I have done some pretty awesome things and between working and the blog I think I did pretty good! That being said, I am now caught up on Pretty Little Liars, the Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Supernatural. I’m sure you can guess what I do after work.
So on for what happened this month!
I can honestly say that I love Instagram. Truly.
I love taking photos, and being able to share them right away with the entire world! Some of them might now be of the best quality, but in that moment what I saw made me happy, or laugh, or sad… Made me feel something that made me want to immediately share it with everyone else around me!
And now without further ado, below are 20 of my favourite Instagram photos of the year!
“Just one more break.” I plead, sitting down on the hard ground, my backpack thumping behind me. My legs are screaming at me in protest as I stretch them out over the dirt, and my breathing is laboured but slowly leveling out. It feels like I’ve been running for days. In reality I only just finished the first staircase of many, many more to get back up to the top of the mountains we just clambered down.
I was out of water, stupid me I thought one bottle would be enough for a small hike around a valley. My bag was heavy with the weight of my Nikon in it, and more than once I debated throwing the entire thing into the stream beside us. My friend, an ahsmatic, seemed to be doing better than I was with this torturous walk. Pathetic.
With that thought in my head, I oh so gracefully stumble back onto my feet, almost falling over in the process, and continue my journey up the stairways of hell. One foot after another, one step at a time.
Well this month has been a whirlwind. I have done so much, learned so much, taken so many photos and met so many amazing people it’s been incredible! Surfing, frozen yogurt, getting a great new job, hiking and adventuring, this month has been one for the books.
So on for what happened this month!
Sydney is the first city I have ever lived in.
I keep getting asked “So Jenna, what’s you’re plan? You’re just going to hang out in Australia for a year?”
The answer is kind of.
Surprise! I’ve decided to extend my stay here to two years instead of one.
This has been the most intensely fun month ever, and I can’t believe it’s gone past this quickly.
I stood there as the wave came crashing over me. I tried to jump up, to get over top of it, but it broke just as it hit me, dragging me under the water with it. I twist and turn, feet hitting the sand, just to pop back up out of the water just in time for the next wave.
I can’t believe two weeks have gone by already. I can’t believe my time here in one of my favourite countries is over.
I’m sorry for the lack of updates or posts! There is no WIFI where I’m staying at the moment, and I’m using up data like crazy. #firstworldproblems.
I leave tomorrow for Belgium, where I will be landing on Wednesday, after going through the London airport (I usually go through Frankfurt) with barely 2 hours in between. I’ll see how that goes…
I’m really excited to go to my second home, but at the same time I’m leaving family here and I will miss them terribly. And Tim Hortons. And English. God, my Dutch is absolutely rotten now, I don’t know how I’m going to survive!
Anywho, after landing in Belgium I have a hotel lined up for 3 nights in Antwerpen, just enough time to catch my breath and readjust to travelling again. And to stuff my face with chocolate, waffles, French fries, beer and ice cream without anyone bearing witness. I thought it was quite clever.
After that… We’ll see. For the most part I have an idea as to where I will be, but I want to keep everything open as much as I can. I have so many friends to see and places to visit, I truly hope I can get it all done in the 2 weeks I’m there.
I guess we’ll see! I hope all of my Canadian friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🙂
